Yachts leasing in Montenegro
It wont be an overstatement that Montenegro is a real paradise for beginning seafarers. The Adriatic Sea is not inclined to test nerves of the travellers with storms, and lots habitable islands and original coastal cities gives a regular opportunity to feel firm ground underfoot to adventurers.
The most accessible way to make small voyages in Montenegro is to rent a motor yacht in the size no more than 70 foots. The longer hull will probably cause problems with "parking" at local moorages greater part of which is counted on vessels of the small size. However, the country which received the status of the sovereign state in summer of 2006 is developing tourist business by leaps and bounds and, obviously, the occurrence of modern moorages for yachts with all necessary infrastructure is just a matter of time.
The local companies give yachts for all tastes. Involved with the esthetics of romantic voyages tourists in Montenegro willingly charter small sailing vessels. As a rule, these vessels are equipped by the small diesel engine with capacity of about 50 l.s., intended for rescue seafarers in absence of a wind. Its quite enough to come into the nearest bay and wait for favorable weather by these "horses". There are representatives of known families of sailing vessels Bavaria, Elan or Jeanneau practically at all charter lists. Those who dont want to "war" with a mainsail and staysail have to accept the necessity to hear the noise of engines and search for a suitable variant in the range of motor yachts. Among the boats offered for rent there are also old acquaintances in Montenegro harbours, as well as in all European ports it is possible to see names Sunseeker, Azimut, Predator or Benetti. There hardly will be boats of extreme capacity as American igarette, picking up the speed under 200 km/h afloat in local waters, but other pleasures are insured even for the most exacting client.
So, the charm of a sea walk can be felt abord the compact Gulfcraft Walkaround 31 or Rio 35 Cabin Fish given by specialised Montenegro Fishing Center. Walkaround 31 is notable for its excellent lay-out design. On a vessel long less than ten metres there are a large cabin, a galley and a shower which are supplemented with a spacious area for rest on the deck behind the cockpit. Two engines Yamaha rather with small total capacity - 400 l.s. speed up this light motor yacht to rather high 36 knots. Rio 35 Cabin Fish is more spacious variant for family holiday, rather than Gulfcraft. Compact flybridge gives additional possibility to enjoy views of the Adriatic Sea, and the projecting platform is especially useful for fans of diving. At Cabin Fish there are two double beds and additional separate sleeping positions for two persons. In total this vessel is capable to accept aboard in any way not less than ten travellers declared in engineering specifications.
Gulfcraft Touring 36 which also can be ordered in Montenegro Fishing Center, is ideally suited for short excursion sea trips - 18 persons can feel the unification with the nature simultaneously.
For justice sake it is necessary to notice that there are not too many variants to arrange long-term and diverse sea walks by territorial waters of Montenegro. All the coastal line of the country which is about 300 km, can be explored in a week-a week and a half. No doubt, the most attractive place from the point of view of tourists-seafarers is the Bay of Kotor. Rush of wind is not guaranteed here, therefore fans of travel under sail should check against weather forecast, or to count on the diesel engine. It is easier for owners of high-speed yachts, but they also should spend 5-6 days for exploring of all secret corners of the bay which is going deeper into the continent for 20 kilometres.
To visit neighbouring Croatia or Italy travellers should to put the visa on the passports beforehand. Sometimes the rules of sail in become simpler. It happens with the coming tourist season, but its better to enquire about it beforehand.
As to technical aspects of rent it is necessary to note - service and mooring in ports of Montenegro are cheaper then similar services in the neighbouring Croatia. The rent prices start from several hundreds euro a day and rise to exorbitant prices. It will do a customer good to learn whether the fuel cost is built into this sum. To charter a vessel in the remote way from Moscow beforehand is more reliable, because a boat corresponding to all requirements can be not available in Montenegro. But if it is a question of the limited budget and two-three days trip practically all the problems with rent can be resolved in conversation with the personnel at a mooring in any habitable point at the coast. An important detail: a Russian-speaking lessee, ordering a yacht in a "set" with a skipper will get a well disposed professional. There will be no problems of psychological compatibility with him as here you can fell lasting historically developed liking of inhabitants of the countries of the former Yugoslavia to visitors from Russia.
